It's all about modified sun salutations today to ease into the asanas. First we did the journal, then the breathing and now a bit of a warm up. Saluting the sun and physically warming up our bodies and prepping our minds mentally for the asanas to come.

Surya Namaskar A
Also known as surya namaskara and sun salutations. It is the classic movement in yoga. The rite of sun worship, including twelve points of prostration connected to the mantras of the sun's 12 dasas. The mantra follows the formula:

When I was in India, I did 40 sun salutations non-stop for the first time to welcome the sun rising. It got my heart pumping, my endorphins going, and knowing the mantras and reciting it made things even more special. The feeling I had before, during and after the experience is so complex to even begin to explain. Maybe today you won't fancy doing 40 sun salutations, but trying it out is a start. I recommend everyone to experience this at least once in their lives. Live to tell the tale and be grateful for the benefits it gives you. :)
